LAL And TAL In The US Pharmacopoeia

It is well known that limulus lysate isextracted from blood of Limulus amebocyte lysate. At present, tachypleusamebocyte lysate reagent is widely used in pharmaceutical, clinical andscientific research fields, for bacterial endotoxin and fungal dextran detection. At present, Limulus lysate is divided into two categories: Limulus amebocytelysate and horseshoe crab. Many people have doubts about the efficacy of LALand TAL two kinds of Limulus blood. A description of the description of LAT andTAL will be given in the chapters of the USP.

In the 28 edition of the AmericanPharmacopoeia, the experimental material was LAL, and the tachypleus amebocytelysate reagent was extracted from LAL or TAL, but it was uniformly named LAL.

In the 30 edition of the American Pharmacopoeia, there is no clear indication of whether the material used in the experiment isLAL or TAL, only that the tachypleus amebocyte lysate reagent is extracted fromLAL or TAL.
